The Movement Church
Beginning in July 2017, The Movement Church is an intentional
fellowship focused on continuing what Jesus started. He did not start a
political party, an exclusive group, or a tradition. Instead, Jesus started a
love movement. Our aim is to continue the love movement that Jesus
started in a time when love can seem somewhat scarce around us.
The Love Movement is a:
Reconciliatory Movement (John 3:16-17)
Our main focus is reaching the
unchurched people through love. This focus includes people who don’t have a
relationship with Jesus or who may have had a relationship with Jesus but have
been hurt by the actions or endorsed atrocities of others who claim to be Christians.
Revolutionary Movement (Matthew 5:43-46)
We believe that love can drastically change us, our families, our
churches, our communities, and the world around us. The power of love breaks
through and totally changes anything.
Radical Movement (Matthew 22:37-39)
The etymology of radical is “from a root”. Therefore, we endeavor
to get back to the root of how things should be and emphasize a love of God and
others, while simultaneously recognizing how much God loves us. We should
be different from those around us because of our focus on love.
Relentless Movement (1 Corinthians 13:7-8)
Love does not give up on God or others. We, therefore, as a part
of the love movement will not give up when times are difficult but love through
difficulty as we recognize how persistently God loves us.
