Beyond 20/20 Vision

 Since we have entered into 2020, it seems like many people are talking about sight for this year connecting to the idea of normal vision. Some people have stated that this is the year that they will have greater focus while others are talking about the clarity they are going to have this year. While nothing is wrong with these ideas, 20/20 vision is based on a human standard. It's limited. It's based on human vision but God wants us to have spiritual vision. There's more he wants us to see that goes beyond our natural senses. In the book of Isaiah, God uses the prophet to speak to people who were living with the repercussions of their past bad choices and sins. Things looked bleak for them because of the problems they created. The people of Judah didn't see any way out of their self-created wilderness. Yet God loved them, and wanted them to stop looking at their problems, but instead see what He was doing. He didn't give up on them.

There's a lot going on in this country and through out our world. It's difficult to see how things could change. There's also difficulties that we're facing in our own personal lives. All we see is problem after problem. Some of these problems may be due to our own bad choices and past sins. Regardless of how we got to our current state, we must look beyond the problems and situations; we must see what God is doing. Our vision must go beyond normal human vision and into a spiritual vision. See What God is Doing is our charge for the decade.

What is he doing? Isaiah 43:19 says, that God is doing "something new."

"I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea... But forget all that--it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland." (Isaiah 43:16, 18-19 NLT)
