“...God is still moving, still speaking, still healing, and still doing MORE...”
2025 Focus: Keep Moving Forward
Life doesn’t always pause for our faith. Storms can hit while we’re doing everything “right”—trying to follow God, trying to grow, trying to move forward. The disciples followed Jesus into the boat, only to find themselves in a fierce storm that made them question everything. Many of us know that feeling: the diagnosis we didn’t expect, the setback we didn’t see coming, the stress that arrived out of nowhere. But Mark 4 reminds us that while storms are unavoidable, God’s promises are unchangeable. The presence of trouble doesn’t mean the absence of God. Even when He seems silent, even when the winds are loud, Jesus is still near, still watching, and still working.
And here’s the good news: you don’t have to write the ending to your story based on what you see right now. The middle of the storm is not the conclusion to the story. The disciples assumed defeat while the Savior was still in the boat. Fear may shout, but faith remembers who’s in control. The same Jesus who calmed the wind and waves still commands every storm we face today. He can bring peace where there was panic, clarity where there was chaos, and breakthrough where there was no path forward. So take heart—your situation is not beyond His power, your future is not beyond His reach, and your story is not finished. The One who leads you is the One who can bring you through.
Moving forward together,
Richard M. Smith, Lead Pastor
